Nine words and done

They turn up in every snack that follows, and all nine fit on one screen. There is nothing to memorize.

Notice something as you read them: not one names an idea you did not already know before you got here. A folder is a folder. A chat is a chat. All that changes is that now they have a name.

ideVS Code
The window you work in. A folder browser with an editor built in.
extensionadd-on, plugin
Something that adds a function to the IDE. The AI will be one of these.
viewereditor
The middle zone of the window, where the content of the open file shows. You read there, and you can write there yourself.
panel
One of the zones the window splits into. The AI chat lives in a side panel.
folderdirectory
The same thing you already know. «Directory» is what some people call it; it is the same thing.
markdown.md
Plain text with simple formatting: a `#` makes a heading, two asterisks make bold. It opens anywhere and never corrupts.
prompt
What you write to it. Nothing more than that. The more concrete, the better it comes out.
context
Everything the AI has «in view» right now: the conversation and the files it opened. It is finite, which is why starting fresh sometimes helps.
terminalconsole, PowerShell
The black screen where commands are typed. You will see it on installation day and probably never again.
Nine, and none needs studying: each one lands the first time you meet it.

Of the nine, which one names something you were already using under another name?
